How to use Scientific Notation Converter
Type a decimal number or one in scientific notation (4.56e-5, 4.56×10^-5). Set significant figures to round, or leave 0 to keep them all.
How it works
The number is split into its digits and power of ten without floating point, then written with one digit before the point (scientific) or an exponent that is a multiple of three (engineering).
Example
0.000045600 is 4.5600 × 10⁻⁵, 45.600 × 10⁻⁶ in engineering notation and 45.600 µ with an SI prefix.
