Spoon measures are approximate; weighing gives the most consistent coffee. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing you type is uploaded.
Coffee = water ÷ ratio. Grounds keep about twice their weight in water, so a little less coffee ends up in the cup. Espresso ratios compare the dose with the drink’s weight.
Two 250 ml cups of pour-over at 1:16 need 31.3 g of ground coffee for 500 ml of water, about 6 level tablespoons.
