Local HEIC/HEIF decoding with libheif 1.23.5. JPEG composites transparency onto white and removes source metadata. 15 MiB input, 16 megapixels and 8,000 px per side; 60-second decoder limit. Converts the primary image only, up to 20 contained image handles. No animation or source metadata preservation. Color appearance depends on the browser and codec.
