Press Start and allow the microphone

Play one string at a time and let it ring. The tuner picks the nearest string automatically; click a string to hear its note and tune to that string only. Headphones are not needed. Works best in a quiet room with the instrument close to the microphone.

How to use Online Guitar Tuner

Choose the instrument, press Start and allow the microphone, then play one string at a time. The needle shows how many cents you are off; click a string to hear its note and lock the target.

How it works

Pitch is found with the YIN algorithm on 4,096-sample frames with a median of recent readings; on test tones it is accurate to under 1 cent from 31 Hz to 1.3 kHz. 100 cents make a semitone.

Example

With A4 = 440 Hz, a string sounding 445 Hz reads A4 +20 cents (too high), and the open low E of a guitar should read 82.41 Hz.
