How to use Molar Mass Calculator
Type a formula with capital letters for element symbols, such as Ca(OH)2 or CuSO4·5H2O. Add a sample mass to convert grams to moles.
How it works
The formula is parsed with nested brackets and hydrate dots, element counts are multiplied out, and each count is multiplied by its standard atomic weight.
Example
CuSO4·5H2O has a molar mass of 249.677 g/mol, 25.45 % of it copper; 10 g is 0.040052 mol.
Questions about Molar Mass Calculator
Is Molar Mass Calculator free, and do I need an account?
Yes. This tool is free to use in your browser without an account. Processing takes place on your device.
What are the limits and what should I check?
Uses IUPAC standard atomic weights; isotopic variation is ignored. Charges are ignored for the mass. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing you type is uploaded. Review the result before using it in your work.
Is my input sent to a server?
