SQLite Viewer & Editor.

Open a SQLite database (.db, .sqlite) in your browser: browse tables and schemas, run SQL queries, edit data and export results to CSV or JSON.

Limits & supported formats

Databases up to 300 MB; results show up to 10,000 rows per query. Encrypted (SQLCipher) databases cannot be opened. Changes are kept only until you download the database; the original file is never modified.

Drop a SQLite database here or

.db, .sqlite, .sqlite3 · up to 300 MB · opened on your device, nothing is uploaded

How to use SQLite Viewer & Editor

Drop a .db or .sqlite file, or start an empty database. Click a table to see its rows, type SQL and press Ctrl+Enter, then export results or download the changed database.

How it works

Runs SQLite 3 compiled to WebAssembly (sql.js, MIT; SQLite is public domain) in a background worker, with an integrity check when the file opens. Multiple statements run in order; errors name the failing statement.

Example

Start an empty database: the sample statements create a notes table, insert a row and show it; Download database saves the result as a .sqlite file.

Open and query a SQLite database

  1. Drop a .db, .sqlite or .sqlite3 file on the page, or press Or start an empty database.
  2. The left column lists every table and view with its row count and columns; click one to show its first 100 rows.
  3. Type SQL in the editor and press Run query (Ctrl+Enter). Several statements separated by semicolons run in order.
  4. Export any result as CSV or JSON, and press Download database to save your changes as a new file.

The original file is never modified: changes such as UPDATE, INSERT or CREATE TABLE stay in this page until you download the database.

Limits and good practice

Databases up to 300 MB can be opened; each result shows at most 10,000 rows. An integrity check runs when the file opens. Encrypted databases (SQLCipher) cannot be read. If an error occurs, the message names the statement that failed.

To turn CSV or JSON files into tables, use SQL Query on CSV & JSON Files; to tidy a long query, use the SQL Formatter.

Questions about SQLite Viewer & Editor

Is my database uploaded?

No. SQLite runs as WebAssembly in a background worker of your browser, and the file stays on your device.

Which SQL dialect is used?

SQLite 3, with its usual functions such as date(), json_extract() and window functions.

Can I edit a database from a phone app?

Yes, if it is a plain SQLite file. Download the changed database and copy it back with the app’s own tools; many apps check their files, so keep a backup.

Is SQLite Viewer & Editor free, and do I need an account?

Yes. This tool is free to use in your browser without an account. Processing takes place on your device.

What are the limits and what should I check?
